Truly Scrumptious Challenge #10

Howdee peoples. Last night I set about having a go at using my Magnolia stamp for the first time. I don't have any markers, pastels, crayons, aqua painters or anything like that, just my ink pads and a blender pen. It started out going well, but I made a few mistakes with the shirt. I was going to toss it away but I had another look at it this morning and thought maybe it wasn't too bad and least this way if I continue with experimenting with colouring, I'll have something to look back at in time to come. So I had an image and just had to make it into a card. I had a look around for a sketch challenge to help me out and found this one at Truly Scrumptious. This is the first time I've played along with their challenge also, so this is a card of firsts. Here is the layout for this week. I have missed the little corner doobie but the rest follows suit. The challenge also asked for you to use something on your card from your neglected stash....

And here is my card. I have started with a base of Rose Red and used DSP's from Raspberry Tart. I have paper pierced around the outside and used a white gel pen to faux stitch. My image is stamped using Stazon ink on watercolour paper and the colours used are Kiwi Kiss, Close to Cocoa, Blush Blossom and Rose Red. I've used the sentiment "wish big" from short and sweet and from my neglected stash I found 2 paper flowers which I have attached to the card with 2 brown speckled brads. This photo is taken on the side so you can see the inside which I have also decorated a little. I really had fun colouring this little Tilda (I think her name is) in. I've already got my wish list as long as my arm with supplies to help me out in the future.

Also, if your a beginner like me, Kellie Winnell has a great little tutorial on colouring on her blog. You can see how easy she makes it look here.

Gorgeous card, love the colours and how you've coloured Tilda, and that sentiment is perfect with the image.
